Los Angeles 6th Ward Visiting Teaching Conference

Los Angeles 6th Ward Relief Society invited all Visiting Teachers to be spiritually uplifted with messages of the importance of visiting teaching.  Sister Bojorquez, Visiting Teaching Coordinator, spoke about the purpose of visiting teaching and how it enriches the lives of those sisters who are visited.  Sister Olazava, President, compared visiting teaching with a First Aid kit.  She had several items in a first aid kit which represented "tools" we use in our visiting teaching assignments:
-a Lock represented how important it is to keep confidences.
-Soap represented how important it is to keep ourselves, as visiting teachers, clean to invite the spirit to           guide us.
-a Band Aid represented covering wounds.  As visiting teachers, we may need to help heal wounds.
-Tooth Paste & Tooth Brush - by keeping our mouths clean we are more willing to smile & bring joy          to those we serve.
       - Elastic Band - We need to adjust our message to meet the needs of our sisters.
-Q-Tip - We need to keep our ears clean so we can listen to the Holy Spirit & to the sisters we serve.
-Cotton Balls - We need to be tender & kind especially when sisters are facing trials/challenges.

Several Visiting Teachers were presented with flowers and certificates for faithfully doing their visiting teaching and reporting their visits timely.  A lovely dinner followed.
